October 14, 2016

CONCORD, N.H. -- The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department will hold a public hearing on proposed changes to rules for lands and waters under Department control on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at 1:00 p.m., at Fish and Game Department headquarters, 11 Hazen Drive, Concord, NH 03301. The public is welcome to attend and to offer comments on the proposed rule changes.

The current rule identifies Wildlife Management Areas and other lands under Department control, and is being readopted to reflect additional properties that have been acquired.

The proposal readopts with amendments the general standards for use of the areas, and the process for obtaining a “special use permit” that approves uses that would otherwise be prohibited. The proposal readopts without change controls for the training and use of dogs on Department lands, specific controls on uses at seven specific Wildlife Management Areas, and rules for all uses of the Owl Brook Hunter Education Center.

A new provision in the proposal sets forth the policy for erection of memorials on lands and waters under Department control.

Written comments on the proposed rule changes may be submitted until October 26, 2016. Written comments may be mailed to the Executive Director, NHFG, 11 Hazen Dr., Concord, N.H., 03301, faxed to (603) 271-5829, or e-mailed to (use the rule name in your subject line).
