Anglers Urged to Participate if Contacted

CONCORD, NH – The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department’s Inland Fisheries Division has contracted with Responsive Management of Harrisonburg, Virginia, to conduct a study of licensed anglers in the state. Licensed anglers may receive a phone call, an email or a letter from Responsive Management in the coming weeks asking you to participate in a survey about your fishing experiences.

Selection for participation in the study among licensed anglers is random to maintain a scientifically valid study. If you are contacted, please consider participating in the study to assist the Department in better understanding anglers' participation in and satisfaction with fishing in New Hampshire, as well as opinions on fisheries management issues.

“It’s been 12 years since we conducted our last comprehensive angler survey,” noted Scott Decker, NH Fish and Game Inland Fisheries Programs Supervisor. “The survey is important for planning and management of our fisheries resources.”

Please note that it is important that all licensed anglers respond, even if you did not actually fish recently, as this information helps the Department better understand participation, preferences, opportunities, needs and opinions.
