Atlantic Herring Landing Days Announced
May 23, 2013 – Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commissioners from the states of Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts have met and set the allowable landing days for the beginning of the 2013 Management Area 1A Atlantic Herring fishery.

April 19, 2013 -- It should be a good spring season for New Hampshire’s turkey hunters, says New Hampshire Fish and Game Department Turkey Biologist Ted Walski. The spring gobbler season opens Friday, May 3, and runs through Friday, May 31, statewide.
N.H. Coastal Lobster Trap Cleanup Set for Saturday, April 27, 2013
April 19, 2013 -- If you're out for a walk on New Hampshire's beaches on Saturday, April 27, you may see more activity than usual. ASMFC Northern Shrimp Section Modifies Landing Days
March 8, 2013 –The Commission’s Northern Shrimp Section has extended the number of allowed landing days for the 2013 northern shrimp trawl fishery. Effective March 13, the trap and trawl fisheries will be able to land shrimp seven days a week. Additionally, the trap and trawl fisheries will close at midnight on April 12.

February 8, 2013 -- The Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission’s Northern Shrimp Section has increased the number of allowed landing days for the 2013 northern shrimp trawl fishery, effective February 11.

Ice Conditions Unsafe on Parts of Lake Winnipesaukee and other Large Lakes
February 6, 2013 -- Fish and Game officials warn that this winter's uneven temperatures and high winds have affected ice formation, particularly on the state's larger lakes. Those heading out onto the ice are urged to exercise caution. Areas of open water have been documented on Lake Winnipesaukee.

February 5, 2013 -- The Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission’s Northern Shrimp Section will meet via conference call on February 7 at 4 p.m. to review available landings information and consider adding landing day(s) to the fishery in order to provide trawl fishermen with greater flexibility and access to the resource.

February 1, 2013 -- The regular meeting schedule for the N.H. Fish and Game Commission will change in March, when the commission will begin meeting regularly on the second Wednesday of each month. Successful Tri-State N.H.-Vermont-Maine Reciprocal Snowmobile Weekend
January 28, 2013 – The three-day Tri-State New Hampshire-Vermont-Maine Reciprocal Snowmobile weekend was a great success this year, with many North Country restaurants and hotels reporting brisk business from riders. Although a safe weekend overall, COs responded to a number of crashes.

Injured Hiker Carried Off Mt. Major
January 7, 2012 -- On Sunday, January 6, 2013, 21-year-old Shannon Koechel of Bedford, NH, slipped and fell while hiking with a friend on the Boulder Loop Trail on Mt. Major in Alton, injuring her leg. She was rescued by Fish and Game and Alton Fire Department personnel.
No Victim Found in Rindge Submerged Snowmobile Incident; Ice Safety Warning
January 4, 2012 -- Searchers did not locate a victim today at the scene of a partially submerged snowmobile in Emerson Pond in Rindge, N.H. Officials cautioned that despite recent frigid temperatures, ice conditions across the state are marginal and thin ice and open water are present on many waterbodies.
