Bristol River Search on Hold Due to High Water
April 16, 2014 – The search for Aaron Hoyt, age 32, of Northfield, who is presumed drowned in the Smith River in Bristol, N.H., following a leap into its icy waters on Monday evening (April 14, 2014), is on hold because of rising waters.
Prescribed Burn in Concord Airport Area to Improve Wildlife Habitat
April 16, 2014 – N.H. Fish and Game and the N.H. Department of Resources and Economic Development Division of Forests and Lands, with support from the N.H. Army National Guard, US Fish and Wildlife Service, and the City of Concord, will conduct a "prescribed burn" in areas on and near Concord Municipal Airport grounds this spring.

April 8, 2014. – Recent surveys for bats in New Hampshire hibernacula, places where bats spend the winter, resulted in biologists finding a total of only 28 bats, with two formerly very common species missing.

March 31, 2014 - If you want to send kids to Barry Conservation Camp in Milan, N.H., this summer, sign up soon, because spaces are filling up fast. Registration is underway for 2014 camp programs for youth (boys and girls age 8-16). A weekly, overnight summer camp operated by the UNH Cooperative Extension 4-H Program and the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department, Barry Camp is for youth who enjoy hands-on learning about outdoor skills and the environment.
Atlantic Herring Area "Day Out" Meeting Set for April 15
March 28, 2014 - Atlantic Herring Section members from the states of Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts will meet at 1:00 PM on April 15, 2014, to discuss “days out” measures for the 2014 Area 1A fishing season from June 1 to September 30. Take Down Birdfeeders -- Don't Get Caught By Surprise This April!
March 27, 2014 -While it may look more like mid-January rather than late March across the New Hampshire landscape, don’t be fooled. Spring is here. The late March sun is strong and snow will soon start to melt fast. As the days become warmer, bears will start to get active and it is time to put the birdfeeders away until late fall. Some homeowners have already reported seeing bears at birdfeeders in different areas across the state. To help prevent bear visits, the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department recommends taking down birdfeeders from April 1 to December 1.

Massachusetts Man Dies while Cross-country Skiing in Albany, N.H.
February 18, 2014 – Ralph Cronin Sr., age 67, a resident of Lynn, Massachusetts, with family ties in New Hampshire's Mount Washington Valley, passed away yesterday while cross-country skiing with his wife on the Oliverian Brook Trail in Albany, N.H., in the White Mountain National Forest.

Moratorium Established for 2014 Northern Shrimp Fishing Season
December 4, 2013 – The Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission’s Northern Shrimp Section has approved a moratorium for the 2014 northern shrimp fishing season.
Registration Opens for Free Indoor Archery Leagues
December 4, 2013 – Registration is now open for N.H. Fish and Game's free archery leagues for beginners and experienced archers, to be held at Owl Brook Hunter Education Center in Holderness in January and February.
Public Hearing December 19 on Shellfish Aquaculture Proposal
December 4, 2013 -- N.H. Fish and Game will hold a public hearing on a proposed marine aquaculture application for license on December 19 at 9:30 a.m. at the Fish and Game Region 3 Office in Durham.
Wildlife Action Grants Available
December 3, 2013 -- Teachers and community members interested in involving youth to make a difference for wildlife through habitat projects on schoolyards, public areas or community lands can apply to the Homes for Wildlife Action Grant Program for start-up funds. Applications due by February 1, 2014.
N.H. Fish and Game Biennial Public Hearings Set
December 3, 2013 -- The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department will hold two biennial hearings in December, giving the general public an opportunity to offer input on any aspect of Department operations. The two sessions will be held on December 10 in Lancaster; and on December 11 in Concord.
