Free Outdoor Adventure Talk April 18, 2012: Kayak Camping
CONCORD, N.H. – Ever think about going camping in your kayak? Come learn about kayak camping at a free talk on Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department, 11 Hazen Drive, Concord, N.H. 03301. No pre-registration is required. The session starts at 7 p.m.
At the talk, you'll learn how to pack a kayak, suggested food and gear to bring on your expedition, and where to find some great kayaking destinations close to home. You might be surprised to learn that a properly packed kayak can carry enough food and equipment for two weeks in the back country.
Presenter Chuck Joy will cover coastal, inland and river kayak camping, as well as types of kayaks. Joy grew up working and playing on everything from sailboats and homemade canoes to lobster boats and commuter boats on the waters of Boston Harbor. He discovered whitewater kayaking in his mid-twenties. He has worked in the outdoor industry since 1994 and is currently the New England representative for several outdoor brands, including Astral Buoyancy, Liquidlogic, Native Watercraft and Hurricane Kayaks. His free time is spent on the water or in the woods of New Hampshire.
This free talk is part of the N.H. Fish and Game Department's spring Outdoor Adventure Series. Presentations take place on Wednesday evenings through April 25. For details, visit www.wildnh.com/Newsroom/News_2012/News_2012_Q1/Outdoor_talks_1_overview.html.
