Toddler Found Safe in Henniker

KEENE, N.H. -- A lost 3½-year-old boy was found safe in Henniker after being lost in the woods for approximately 4½ hours on Monday, October 8, 2012.

NH Fish and Game Conservation Officers, along with Henniker Police and Fire Departments, Hillsborough Police Department, and New England K-9 Search and Rescue, were called to Peasley Road in Henniker today for the lost child.

The boy and his father were visiting friends when the boy wandered off into the woods while playing in the yard at approximately 10:30 a.m. Search crews were actively searching in the woods throughout the area when a resident of nearby Baker Road found the boy on his property at 2:30 p.m.  That resident was out at his barn when he noticed a boy crying next to his tractor.  This was approximately 1.5 miles from where the boy was last seen on Peasley Road.  The boy was unhurt and reunited with his relieved parents.
