Refurbished Orford Boat Ramp on Connecticut River Now Open

CONCORD, N.H. -- The newly refurbished boat access facility on the Connecticut River in Orford, N.H., is now complete and open for use as of July 2, 2012.

The site previously consisted of a gravel ramp with limited parking and was maintained by the Town of Orford.  Under a lease agreement with the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department through the Statewide Public Boat Access Program, Fish and Game reconstructed the site, installing a concrete ramp and expanding parking to accommodate 10 trailered vehicles and 10 cartop vehicles.

New Hampshire's Public Boat Access Program is funded through boat registration fees and federal Sport Fish and Wildlife Restoration funds. Fish and Game's Facilities Construction and Lands Division acquires land for public water access sites, refurbishes existing sites and builds new public boat access areas.  Visit
