Atlantic Herring Days Out Meeting August 1, 2011
DURHAM, N.H. -- The Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission's Atlantic Herring Section will hold a meeting on Monday, August 1, 2011, at 6:00 p.m., to discuss the allowable number of ‘days out’ for commercial Atlantic herring (sea herring) harvesters. The meeting will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Old Town, 901 N. Fairfax Street, Alexandria, Virginia. The purpose of this call is to review updated 2011 Area 1A catch rates and discuss ‘days out’ for the remainder of the June 1-September 30 season.

Vessels may currently land Atlantic herring from Area 1A from Monday through Thursday, and are prohibited from landing more than 2,000 pounds of Atlantic herring on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
