Last Call for “Becoming an Outdoors-Woman” Waterfowl Hunting Weekend
CONCORD, N.H. – There's still room for a few adventurous women interested in learning how to hunt waterfowl at an exciting new Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) weekend workshop led by N.H. Fish Game Department waterfowl biologists and seasoned waterfowl hunters from Ducks Unlimited. The session is set for August 12-14, 2011, at Barry Conservation Camp in Berlin, N.H. The cost for the weekend is $175.
To sign up, visit http://www.nhbow.com and download the Beyond Becoming an Outdoors-Woman Waterfowl Weekend workshop brochure and mail-in registration form. For questions or to get a registration form by mail or email, call 603-271-3212 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Applications are due by July 26.
Beginners are welcome at this event, which will guide you through the basics of waterfowl hunting. All equipment will be provided. You'll learn about firearm safety and have live-firing opportunities with shotguns. The experts will go over waterfowl identification, equipment and a variety of hunting techniques. You'll also get to plan and participate in a mock waterfowl hunt. Participants must be 18 years or older.
The course fee of $175 includes lodging, instruction, program materials, use of demonstration equipment, Friday evening welcome/check-in (does not include Friday dinner), all meals on Saturday, breakfast and lunch on Sunday.
Barry Conservation Camp is located on the grounds of the Berlin Fish Hatchery on York Pond Road, off Route 110 in West Milan, N.H., a remote, scenic location in the White Mountain National Forest. Accommodations are rustic, but you'll be staying in newly renovated cabins that sleep five people. The camp has a modern dining hall and bathroom/shower facilities.
