Media Invited to Join Executive Councilor Ray Burton for Fish and Game North Country Tour on September 8, 2010 – Topics include Bears, Moose, Dams and More

CONCORD, N.H. -- News media, outdoor writers and community leaders are invited to join District 1 Executive Councilor Raymond Burton and New Hampshire Fish and Game Department Executive Director Glenn Normandeau on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, for a tour of several Fish and Game facilities and projects in Executive Council District 1.  The tour will include a variety of photo opportunities and story leads.  Members of the media are welcome to accompany the tour for all or part of the day’s events.

Following is the touring schedule for the day:

7:30 – 8:30 a.m.: Whitefield – Breakfast and Discussion with Fish and Game Commission Members – Grandma’s Kitchen
9:00 – 10:00 a.m.: Lancaster – Managing Black Bear Conflict in New Hampshire - Fish and Game Region 1 Office, 629B Main Street
10:45 – 11:45 a.m.: Pittsburg – Upper Connecticut River Fisheries Habitat Research - Indian Stream at Route 3 Bridge
12:00 – 1:00 p.m.: Pittsburg – Lunch and Introduction to the Wildlife Heritage Foundation of NH – Happy Corner Cafe
1:30 – 2:30 p.m.:  Pittsburg – Moose Winter Tick Habitat Research – Magalloway Road Site
3:00 – 4:30 p.m.:  Pittsburg – Operation and Maintenance of Connecticut Lakes Headwaters Dams – Scott’s Bog, East Inlet

4:30 p.m.: Conclusion of tour
