Winnipesaukee River Boat Access Facility in Northfield, N.H., to be Closed for Repairs June 18 – July 9, 2010

CONCORD, N.H. – The NH Fish and Game Department’s Winnipesaukee River boat access area in Northfield (Route 140 at Shaker Road) will be closed beginning June 18, for approximately three weeks of repairs and construction. Work will include removal of existing deteriorating asphalt, followed by the installation of a concrete ramp. The anticipated date for the site to reopen is July 9, 2010.

New Hampshire's Public Boat Access Program is funded through boat registration fees and federal Sport Fish and Wildlife Restoration funds, a true user-pay, user-benefit program. Fish and Game's Facilities and Lands Division acquires land for public water access sites, refurbishes existing sites and builds new public boat access areas.

The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department works in partnership with the public to conserve, manage and protect the state's fish, wildlife and marine resources and their habitats. Visit
