NH Fish and Game Investigating Fatal Dirt Bike Accident in Groton, NH

CONCORD, N.H. -- The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department is investigating a fatal accident that occurred during the afternoon of April 29, 2010, involving a young man, David A. Catanzaro, age 16, of Hampstead, N.H., who was operating a dirt bike in Groton, N.H. 

Catanzaro was riding with Joey Visconti, age 13, of Hampstead, N.H. The two youths were riding their dirt bikes on Province Road in Groton, N.H., and Catanzaro became trapped under a large tree that fell on him as he was passing by, due to the high winds in the area.  Visconti was unable to move the tree and went for help.  Responders able to remove the tree, but efforts to revive Catanzaro were unsuccessful.

The Medical Examiners Office and N.H. Fish and Game are investigating the incident. Assisting N.H. Fish and Game at the scene were the Hebron Fire/Rescue, Groton and Hebron Police, and the Groton Highway Department.
