Body of Missing Man Found in Dummer
CONCORD, N.H. -- On Tuesday, May 4, 2010, a joint search effort conducted by Conservation Officers from the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department and Troopers from New Hampshire State Police in the Phillips Brook area of Dummer, N.H., resulted in the recovery of the body of Robert Cloutier, age 55, of Berlin, N.H.
Cloutier had been camping with friends in the area the previous evening. Cloutier’s friends discovered that he was missing after they woke up in the morning. After unsuccessfully searching the area around the campsite, one of the members of the party drove to an area of cell coverage and called for help.
Fish and Game Conservation Officers and N.H. State Troopers responded to the scene, beginning a search at approximately 12:15 p.m. At 1:00 p.m., Conservation Officer Glen Lucas and Trooper Sergeant Dennis Wade located Cloutier’s body approximately a quarter of a mile from the campsite. After an on-scene inspection by the medical examiner, personnel from Stark Fire and Rescue assisted authorities in the body recovery.
At this time, the cause of Mr. Cloutier’s death is unknown, and State Police are continuing an investigation into this incident.
