Free Ice Fishing Class Offered in Milford Starting January 30

CONCORD, N.H. – Come one, come all, grab your hats and mittens, pull on your winter boots and meet us in Milford to learn about a fun activity to enjoy during the long winter months – ice fishing.  Join instructors from the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department’s “Let’s Go Fishing” Program for a three-week Saturday program in Milford on January 30 and February 6 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Saturday, February 13, 2010 (time to be determined).  

The class is open to anyone, however, those 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult.  Reserve your spot by contacting “Let’s Go Fishing” instructor Dale Riley, Tuesday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm at (603) 673-2987 or evenings at (603) 673-4036.  The class is free, and registration is first-come, first-served.  All equipment and materials will be provided.  You do not need a fishing license to participate.

The January 30 and February 6, 2010, classes will take place at Riley Brothers Lumber at 39 Christmas Tree Lane in Milford, where participants will learn about ice fishing equipment, safety and practices, and the winter ecology of lakes and ponds. 
On February 13, 2010, the group will head out to a local pond and put their newly learned skills to the test!
