Registration Opens for Overnight Backpacking Adventure for Women:
A New "Beyond Becoming an Outdoors-Woman" Weekend -- May 8-9, 2010

CONCORD, N.H. -- Registration forms are now available for the new spring "Beyond BOW" Backpacking Adventure. You can find a brochure and registration form at www.nhbow.com. Participation is first-come, first-served, so sign up right away if you're interested. We will begin accepting applications on Monday, March 22, 2010.

The backpacking adventure (moderate pace), led by BOW and Appalachian Mountain Club hiking instructor Ann Gwynne, will take place on May 8-9, 2010, in the Upper Valley area (western New Hampshire). To participate, you must first attend a gear/planning day in Warner, N.H., on April 17, 2010; the exact location of the overnight trip will be discussed at that time. Participants will learn what it takes to backpack and camp out in the wilderness and be self-sufficient. Limited to 6 participants. Cost of $20 includes group meals.

"Beyond BOW" courses expand the offerings of the traditional Becoming an Outdoors-Woman fall and winter workshops. These in-depth courses are designed to give women the skills to do the outdoor activity on their own. It also gives participants a chance to network with other like-minded women with whom to share these activities.

New Hampshire's Becoming an Outdoors-Woman programs are co-sponsored by the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department (www.WildNH.com) and the New Hampshire Wildlife Federation (www.nhwf.org).
