Lost Hunter in Chesterfield Located

CONCORD, N.H. – A hunter lost overnight in Pisgah State Park in Chesterfield, N.H., was located by mid-day today (Thursday, December 3, 2009).  Patrick Rinfret, age 50, an experienced hunter from Vernon, Vermont, headed out hunting in the park about noon on Wednesday, December 2.  He became disoriented and got lost as heavy rain commenced in the evening.  Rescue teams were notified at 6:00 a.m. this morning and began searching the area.  Fortunately, searchers were able to get a Global Positioning System (GPS) fix on Rinfret’s location, and he was located about a mile and a half into the park and helped to safety at 11:30 a.m.  Though tired, wet and hungry, Rinfret was in good condition.

New Hampshire Fish and Game Conservation Officers were assisted in the rescue effort by Chesterfield Police and Fire personnel.
