Searchers Locate Patient from NeuroRehab Facility
CONCORD, N.H. -- New Hampshire Fish and Game Department Conservation Officers successfully completed a search for a patient from Lakeview NeuroRehabilitation Center in Effingham, N.H., yesterday (Thursday, July 30). George (Hank) Homer, a 36-year-old patient at Lakeview, ran away from the facility at approximately 9:50 a.m. on July 30. New Hampshire Fish and Game Conservation Officers were called in to help find him soon afterwards. Search teams looked for Homer through the afternoon, combing the surrounding wooded area of Green Mountain. About 4:00 p.m., Homer was located in the woods near Route 25 in Effingham and transported to Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro for evaluation.
New Hampshire Fish and Game Department Conservation Officers were assisted in the search by the New Hampshire State Police, including a helicopter and K-9 unit; the Carroll County Sheriff's Office; fire department personnel from Freedom, Effingham and Center Ossipee; and New England K-9 Search & Rescue.
