Two Littleton Teens Injured in Lisbon, N.H., Dirt Bike Crash
CONCORD, N.H. - Two teens were injured in a head-on collision between two dirt bikes in an inactive gravel pit in Lisbon at about 7:00 Monday night, August 24, 2009.
Sixteen-year-old Brendan Towle-Wright and 17-year-old Eric English, both of Littleton, had reportedly been riding for a short time when the collision occurred on the entrance road to the gravel pit, off Catterall Road. Wheeled vehicle use is not permitted in the pit, which is privately owned. The pair were there with two other teenaged friends who were watching them ride. After the collision, Towle-Wright ran to a nearby home to call 911. A Lisbon police officer was first on the scene; Littleton Ambulance and Lisbon EMS also responded.
Both teens, who were wearing helmets at the time of the incident, were taken to Littleton Regional Hospital. Towle-Wright was treated and released. English was airlifted by DHART to Dartmouth Medical Center in Hanover, where he is now being treated for serious injuries.
The N.H. Fish and Game Department is investigating the incident with assistance from the Lisbon Police Department.
No further information is available at this time.
