Croyden Woman Rescued
CONCORD, N.H. -- A 52-year-old Croydon resident was located by search teams shortly after 2:00 a.m. this morning (Sunday September 27, 2009) after a nightlong search effort.
NH Fish and Game Lt. Todd Bogardus states that search teams from the NH Fish and Game Department, New England K-9, Upper Valley Wilderness Response Team, a NH State Police K-9 and Helicopter along with Croydon Police/Fire/EMS personnel searched for the victim throughout the evening, locating her just prior to the arrival of this morning's rain showers.
Lisa Scanlon of Croydon had parked on Fletcher Road in Croydon with the intentions to take a walk on an old farm that she had lived on while a child. During the course of her trek, she became disoriented and lost her way. Authorities were contacted at 6:30 p.m. Saturday evening, and a search was conducted to locate her. A K-9 team from New England K-9 Search & Rescue located Scanlon in a wooded area over 1/2 mile from her vehicle.
Scanlon was cold, disoriented and unable to walk so she was litter carried out to an ambulance where she was transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital to be evaluated.
