Conference Committee Approves HB45 Without Lake Sunapee Access Amendment
CONCORD, N.H. -- A Legislative Conference Committee Report of June 18, 2009, recommends the filing of House Bill 45 as passed by the House (relating to the water supply land conservation program). It does not include the amendment added by the Senate that would have established a study committee to review the need and costs related to New Hampshire Fish and Game Department's proposed Wild Goose Access Site on Lake Sunapee.
Land for the Wild Goose Access Site was bought 19 years ago for the purpose of constructing a public boating access site on Lake Sunapee, the sixth largest lake in New Hampshire. The project is recommended by the state Public Water Access Advisory Board to address the lack of adequate public access to the lake.
