Free Evening Fishing Talks in Concord in March, April

CONCORD, N.H. - Get inspired to try some new angling adventures this spring at a series of free evening talks by fishing experts at New Hampshire Fish and Game Department headquarters at 11 Hazen Drive in Concord, N.H.  Programs begin at 7 p.m. Admission is free.  No pre-registration is required; just come on down and join the fun.  The series includes:

  • Wednesday, March 18 - Fly Fishing New Hampshire's Upper Connecticut River for Trophy Trout: featuring registered New Hampshire fishing guide Angus Boezeman, also known as the "guru of the Connecticut River."  With nearly 30 years of experience fishing the Connecticut, Boezman will share his contagious enthusiasm and knowledge about fly-fishing this famous fishery.

  • Wednesday, March 25 - Downriggers and Trolling: with registered New Hampshire fishing guides Jason Parent and Travis Williams.  Both are known for their innovative trolling techniques. They will discuss trolling and downrigger use for successful fishing in the big lakes all season long.

  • Wednesday, April 1 - Fly Fishing New Hampshire's Upper Connecticut River for Trophy Trout: Back by overwhelming demand! New Hampshire fishing guide Angus Boezeman, also known as the "guru of the Connecticut River," will repeat his popular talk about fly-fishing this famous fishery. Boezeman has nearly 30 years of experience fishing the Connecticut River in New Hampshire.

  • Thursday, April 2 - Walleye Fishing 101: Fish and Game Warmwater Project Leader Gabe Gries will present the basics of fishing for walleye. Learn about this mysterious fish, its life cycle, habits and habitat. Gries also will share successful tactics for catching these wonderful fish throughout the season.

  • Wednesday, April 8 - Fishing Electronics: Carlton Schumacher from Hummingbird Fish finders takes us beyond turning on the fish finder. This program will help you better understand the special features of your electronics. Unlock your fish-finding potential with this program.

  • Wednesday, April 15, 2009 - Downriggers and Trolling: Registered New Hampshire fishing guides Jason Parent and Travis Williams are known for their innovative trolling techniques. They will discuss trolling and downrigger use for successful fishing in the big lakes all season long. A repeat of the popular March talk. If you missed it, be sure to come for this one! This final talk concludes the free 2009 spring fishing series at Fish and Game.
