Media Invited to Join Executive Councilor Ray Burton for Tour of Fish and Game North Country Facilities on October 16, 2008

CONCORD, N.H. -- News media and outdoor writers are invited to join District 1 Executive Councilor Raymond Burton and New Hampshire Fish and Game Department Executive Director Glenn Normandeau on Thursday, October 16, 2008, for a tour of several Fish and Game facilities and projects in Executive Council District 1.  The tour will include a variety of photo opportunities and story leads.  Members of the media are welcome to accompany the tour for all or part of the day's events.

Following is the touring schedule for the day:

8:00 - 9:00 a.m.      Littleton - Breakfast Meeting at the Littleton Diner

        • Fish and Game Activities
        • Wildlife Heritage Foundation of New Hampshire

9:15 - 9:45 a.m.      Littleton - Watershed Education Program Field Trip to Ammonoosuc River with Littleton High School

        • Environmental Education Class
        • Watershed Education Program
        • Water testing

10:15 - 10:45 a.m.       Twin Mountain Hatchery and Visitor Center

        • Hatchery maintenance activities
        • Capital Improvements planned for 2009
        • Visitor center activities

11:45 - 12:30 p.m.      Berlin -- Lunch Meeting at Northland Restaurant and Dairy Bar 

        • Fish and Game Activities
                           

12:45 - 1:45 p.m.  Berlin -- Jericho Motorsports/Jericho Mountain State Park

        • Jericho Mountain State Park ATV Trail
        • Discussion on economic impact to local businesses
        • ATV trail law enforcement activities

2:00 - 3:00 p.m.  Berlin -- Berlin Fish Hatchery

        • Hatchery capital improvements
        • Hatchery effluent project

3:30 - 4:00 p.m.      Lancaster - Fish and Game Region 1 Office     

        • Connecticut Lakes Headwaters management activities       

4:30 p.m.         Conclusion of tour
