Free Waterfowl Hunting Seminar September 13 in Holderness
CONCORD, N.H. -- Get an introduction to waterfowl hunting at a free seminar being offered by the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department on Saturday, September 13, 2008, from 9 a.m. - noon at the Owl Brook Hunter Education Center on Perch Pond Road in Holderness. The seminar is designed for beginning waterfowl hunters or hunters interested in trying waterfowl hunting for the first time. Pete Lester, a successful New Hampshire waterfowl hunter for over 34 years and N.H. Field Editor for Waterfowler.com, will conduct the seminar. Pete will walk the novice hunter through the many facets unique to waterfowl hunting, covering what every new waterfowl hunter needs to know and equipment he or she should have to be safe and successful.
The workshop also will cover where to look for ducks and geese, hunting methods, decoys and calling, firearms and ammunition selection, specialty clothing, watercraft, water safety, cleaning and cooking birds and where to find additional information. Following the presentation, participants will be encouraged to shoot a few clay pigeons using steel shot. Guns and ammunition will be provided.
