Free Talk April 2: Kayak Fishing for All
CONCORD, N.H. -- Are you ready to take on New Hampshire's scenic fisheries from a convenient, portable watercraft? Find out about the equipment and techniques you need to fish from a kayak at a free talk by Shawn Roche of Mountain Road Trading Post on Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at 7 p.m. at New Hampshire Fish and Game Department Headquarters, 11 Hazen Drive, Concord, N.H. No pre-registration is required. The session is the last in Fish and Game's popular series of free spring fishing talks by expert New Hampshire anglers.
Shawn Roche is an American Canoe Association-trained kayak instructor and avid fisherman. In his talk, "Kayak Fishing for All," he presents the gear and techniques that can help you fish successfully in the limited space of a kayak. You'll see some remarkable film of an angler hooking a blue marlin from a kayak (don't try this at home!) along with some great photos of different types of freshwater and saltwater fish taken from a kayak by local kayak fishermen.
"This ultra-sneaky boat has really opened up another world for me," said Mark Beauchesne, Fish and Game's Advertising and Promotions Coordinator. "I can now fish places that only others dream about. No need for a boat launch!"
