Public Hearing and Season-Setting Meeting for Northern Shrimp to Be Held Wednesday, November 14, 2007
DURHAM, N.H. -- The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department will hold a public hearing and season-setting meeting for the northern shrimp fishing season on Wednesday, November 14, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. at the Portsmouth Public Library (175 Parrott Avenue in Portsmouth, N.H). There will also be a discussion of setting a control date (a determined date by which harvesters have to be issued a permit/license to be eligible for the fishery), and talks will begin about a limited entry system for the northern shrimp fishery (limiting the number of people who are allowed to fish for shrimp).
For more information about the hearing or the proposed discussions, please call N.H. Fish and Game's Marine Fisheries Division at (603) 868-1095.
The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department is the guardian of the state's fish, wildlife and marine resources and their habitats.
