Update on Hunting-related Shooting Incident in Laconia
CONCORD, N.H. - New Hampshire Fish and Game Department Law Enforcement officials today released additional information about the hunting-related shooting incident that occurred in Laconia on May 3, 2007. The victim, 15-year-old Benjamin Gallagher of Meredith, was turkey hunting on the first day of New Hampshire's spring gobbler season with his 25-year-old brother, Michael Gallagher of Meredith. Benjamin was wounded by birdshot from a third hunter, not a member of their hunting group. The incident took place off Meredith Center Road in Laconia and remains under investigation by N.H. Fish and Game Department Law Enforcement.
The teenager remains at the Lakes Region General Hospital.
