Watercraft Not Allowed on Exeter Reservoir
Incorrect Access Shown in 2007 NH Freshwater Fishing Digest
DURHAM, N.H. -- In accordance with a town ordinance, Exeter-area anglers should note that the Exeter Reservoir, also known as Water Works Pond, allows for fishing from the shoreline only. No watercraft of any kind are permitted on Exeter Reservoir, because it is a public water supply.
Fish and Game's 2007 NH Freshwater Fishing Digest mistakenly lists the reservoir as having "cartop" access. Those waterbodies listed as "cartop" facilities are generally suitable for small boats such as kayaks and canoes, but the Exeter Reservoir does not allow these watercraft.
Signage at the Exeter Reservoir site specifies that shoreline fishing is allowed, but watercraft are not. Another Town of Exeter ordinance indicates that no fishing is allowed within 300 feet of the dam.
