2005-2006 N.H. Hunting Digest Is Out:
Best Resource for Details on Hunting in the Granite State

CONCORD, N.H. -- The 2005-2006 N.H. Hunting Digest is hot off the press and available online at www.wildlife.state.nh.us/Hunting/hunting.htm; at New Hampshire Fish and Game offices and license agents statewide; or call (603) 271-3214 to order a copy. The free, pocket-sized book contains detailed information about hunting and trapping seasons in the Granite State, plus bag limits, wildlife management unit (WMU) boundaries, regulations, check stations and other information hunters need. Get yours soon, because New Hampshire hunting seasons get underway in September with the start of bear season, resident Canada geese season and youth waterfowl weekend (September 24-25, 2005), among others.

New Hampshire's 2005 fall hunting seasons include the following:

  • White-tailed deer*
    --Archery -- Sept. 15 - Dec. 15
    --Youth deer weekend -- Oct. 22 - 23
    --Muzzeloader -- Oct. 29 - Nov. 8
    --Firearms -- Nov. 9 - Dec. 4
  • Black bear*: Starts Sept. 1
  • September Canada goose: Sept. 6 - 25
  • Youth waterfowl weekend: Sept. 24 - 25
  • Fall wild turkey*: Archery only, Sept. 15 - Dec. 15
  • Sea ducks: Oct. 1 - Jan. 15, 2006
  • Pheasant: Oct. 1 - Dec. 31
  • Snowshoe hare*: Starts Oct. 1
  • Ruffed grouse: Oct. 1 - Dec. 31
  • Moose: By permit only, Oct. 15 - 23
