MEDIA ADVISORY: REVISED SCHEDULE for Fish and Game
Tour with Executive Councilor Burton, Director Perry
(Please note that the afternoon schedule has been changed from the earlier announcement.)
CONCORD, N.H. -- News reporters and outdoor writers are invited to join Executive Councilor Raymond Burton and New Hampshire Fish and Game Executive Director Lee Perry on Thursday, August 4, 2005, for a tour of several Fish and Game facilities and projects in Executive Council District 1. The tour offers photo opportunities and many different story leads. Members of the media are welcome to accompany the tour for the whole day, or join in at any point along the way.
Following is the revised
schedule for the day's activities:
8:00 - 8:30 a.m.: Twin Mountain Fish and Wildlife Center, Carroll
-- Overview of Schoolyard Habitat Program and upcoming Summer Teacher
Institute, "Curriculum Connections Through Schoolyard Investigation."
8:45 - 9:00 a.m.: Airport Marsh, Whitefield -- Presentation on the Connecticut River Birding Trail and discussion on the necessity of a source of funding for maintenance of state-owned dams.
9:15 - 9:45 a.m.: Fish and Game Region 1 Office, Lancaster -- Presentation of results of a recently completed black bear research project and overview of future research.
10:00 -10:45 a.m.: Emerson
Outdoor Outfitters, Groveton -- Discussion on the economic importance
of hunting and fishing to New Hampshire.
11:15 a.m. - 12:30: Barry Conservation Camp, Berlin -- Presentation
on camp program; lunch with the campers.
12:30 - 1:30 p.m.: Wild Brook Trout Research Project, Berlin -- Presentation on wild brook trout research.
1:45 - 2:00 p.m.: Paul Bofinger
Conservation Area, Dummer -- Tour conservation area.
3:00 - 4:30 p.m.: Pondicherry Wildlife Refuge, Jefferson -- Attend
presentation on Federal Duck Stamp by Senator John Sununu; meet with members
of the refuge protection partnership.
4:30 p.m.: Randolph -- Conclusion of Tour
