Missing Strafford Man Located
DURHAM, N.H. -- On May 2, 2005, searchers located a missing Strafford man near Blue Job Mountain.
On Sunday, May 1, Richard Henderson, age 48, was reported missing to the Strafford Police Department by family members. Henderson had told friends that he had driven his vehicle down a logging road in the area of Blue Job Mountain. Family members grew concerned when he did not return by nightfall.
A search effort involving the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department and the Strafford Police Department was organized shortly after nightfall. Using all-terrain vehicles, Strafford Chief Scott Young and Conservation Officer Michael Matson found Henderson at 2:00 a.m., on Monday, May 2. Henderson's truck had become lodged on some rocks along an old jeep trail on the Blue Job mountainside, approximately 2 miles from his home. Although weary and disoriented from his ordeal, he was not injured.
