Fish and Game License-revocation Hearing Postponed
CONCORD, N.H. -- At a pre-hearing conference held today, March 15, 2005, the decision was made to postpone the license-revocation hearing of Steven R. Laro originally scheduled for March 16, 2005, at the request of Laro's attorney.
The hearing, time and place to be determined, will be held before the
Fish and Game Commission and Executive Director in accordance with Title
XVIII, RSA 214:18. This statute allows for a person's hunting license
to be suspended or revoked following a hearing.
Laro shot and killed his hunting companion, Robert H. Proulx, in a
January, 2004 hunting incident. In December of 2004, a jury acquitted
Laro of negligent homicide and of felonious use of a firearm.
Fish and Game Commission Chairman Ted Tichy said that the hearing will likely take place in April. Laro has agreed to forfeit his hunting privilege until the matter is resolved. No further information is available at this time.
