Missing Littleton Woman Rescued

CONCORD, N.H. - Searchers have found 67-year-old Marcia Ellingwood, the Littleton woman who was missing since the morning of November 7. She was located by Nancy Lyons of New England Canine Search and Rescue on the morning of November 8. Ellingwood was found off Brook Road in Bethlehem, within a mile of her home. She is being treated for severe hypothermia and is being evacuated to Littleton Hospital.

Ellingwood's husband had reported her missing on November 7 when he woke up and found that she was not in their residence. When he was unable to locate her after a search of the immediate area, he notified the Littleton Police, who called in the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department to initiate a search.

In all, more than 100 searchers participated in looking for Ellingwood, including ground, hasty and dog teams, as well as divers. In addition to the Littleton Police and New Hampshire Fish and Game Law Enforcement, searchers included Littleton Fire and Rescue, the Androscoggin Valley Search and Rescue, the Upper Valley Rescue Squad, New England Canine Search and Rescue, the U.S. Army National Guard, New Hampshire State Police and various volunteers.
