New Fish and Game Director Lee Perry Will Be Sworn In at 11:00 Today
CONCORD, N.H. -- Governor Craig Benson will today swear in Lee E. Perry as Executive Director of the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department. The swearing-in will take place in the Governor's office in the State House at 11:00 a.m.
Following the swearing-in, Perry will begin his duties at Fish and Game headquarters on Hazen Drive in Concord. His term as Director will be four years.
Perry replaces Acting Director William S. Bartlett Jr., who has run the Department since former Director Wayne Vetter's suspension in December of 2002. In a parting letter to Fish and Game staff, Bartlett wrote, "We are truly fortunate to have someone of Mr. Perry's caliber to represent the Department for the next four years."
In his most recent position, Perry served for five years as the Maine Commissioner of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. To download Perry 's resume, click here (Word doc, 46 KB).
Perry will oversee about 200 employees at N.H. Fish and Game, the guardian of the state's fish, wildlife and marine resources. The Department is charged with conserving, managing and protecting these resources and their habitats, informing and educating people about these resources and providing the public with opportunities to use and appreciate them.
