Hearings Set for Haddock, Spiny
DURHAM, N.H. -- The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department today announced that it will hold a public hearing to consider changing the haddock fishing restrictions on Monday, August 4, at 9 a.m. at Fish and Game's Region 3 Office at 225 Main Street in Durham. Immediately following the haddock hearing, there will be a public hearing regarding spiny dogfish addressing the opening of the season, seasonal trip limits and the manner in which the fishery would be conducted. For more information on either hearing, call (603) 868-1095.
The proposed haddock regulations would reduce the recreational size limit for haddock from 23 inches to 21 inches and would set the daily limit for catching cod and haddock at 10 cod and 10 haddock (currently the limit is 10 fish combined) from April 1 through November 30. The changes would make state regulations consistent with those set by the National Marine Fisheries Service for federal waters.
Written comments on the haddock proposal may be submitted by August 15, 2003, to: firstname.lastname@example.org; or Executive Director, N.H. Fish and Game Department, 2 Hazen Drive, Concord, NH 03301; or fax (603) 271-1438.
