Public Informational Meeting Set on Proposed Fishery Management Changes to Amendment 13
CONCORD, N.H. -- Recreational and commercial
fishermen are encouraged to attend
a public informational meeting on the draft Amendment 13 to the Northeast
Multispecies Fishery Management Plan at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September
3, at the Urban Forestry Center at 45 Elwyn Road in Portsmouth. The New
Hampshire Fish and Game Department's Marine Fisheries Division will hold
the meeting. For more information on the session, call (603) 868-1095.
The proposed changes would affect many commercial and recreational fishing activities in the Northeast. It would adjust the New England Fishery Management Plan to allow for rebuilding of various stocks of fish, including cod and yellowtail flounder, in the Gulf of Maine, Georges Bank and southern New England. Public hearings on the draft amendment will be held in late September by the New England Fishery Management Council.
