Missing Fisherman Located, Deceased, along the Saco River
UPDATE - August 8, 2014 -The name of the deceased angler has been released: Frank Augustonovich, age 70, of Conway, NH.
NEW HAMPTON, N.H. -- The body of a fisherman reported missing along the Saco River in Conway, N.H., was located by search teams late Wednesday night.
On Wednesday, August 5, 2014, Conservation Officers from the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department, as well as members of Conway Police and Fire Departments, made a combined effort to locate a fisherman who was reported missing along the Saco River.
Conservation Officers from the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department were notified of the incident at approximately 10:00 PM, and responded to the area of Lamplighter Drive in Conway where the missing fisherman’s car was located.
At approximately 11:45 PM, Conservation Officers located the missing fisherman’s body in a wooded area along the bank of the Saco River approximately 1,600 feet upstream of where he had parked his car. An initial investigation indicates that he died of natural causes. His name will be released pending notification of next of kin.
