Public Hearing on Oyster Aquaculture Application May 2, 2014

DURHAM, N.H. -- The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department will hold a public hearing on a proposed marine aquaculture license on Friday, May 2, 2014, at 09:00 AM at the NH Fish and Game Department Region 3 Office, 225 Main Street, Durham, N.H.  The public is welcome to attend and to offer comments on the proposed aquaculture plan.

The proposed aquaculture plan is for an oyster upweller (i.e. a suspended oyster container with pumped sea water directed over the contents) at a boat dock in the Oyster River near the point where Bunker Creek enters.  The applicant is Stephen Weglarz Jr., DBA Cedar Point Shellfish.

Written comments on the proposed license may be submitted at the hearing or until May 17, 2014.  Written comments may be mailed to the Executive Director, NHF&G, 11 Hazen Dr., Concord, N.H., 02201, faxed to (603) 271-1438, or e-mailed to bruce.smith@wildlife.nh.gov.
