Injured Hiker Rescued in Lincoln, NH
NEW HAMPTON, NH – Rescuers carried an injured Goffstown woman to safety in Lincoln, N.H., on Sunday, February 23, 2014. Kim Little, age 48, of Goffstown, N.H., was hiking with a companion on the Fishing Jimmy Trail, just above the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) Lonesome Lake Hut in Lincoln, when she sustained an injury to her leg.
The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department was notified of the situation at about 2 p.m. Rescuers reached the injured woman by 4:30 p.m. and carried her 2 miles down the trail. They reached the Lafayette Campground trailhead at about 6:15 p.m., where Little was evaluated by Linwood Ambulance personnel.
The rescue team included Fish and Game Conservation Officers, volunteers from the Pemigewasset Valley Search & Rescue Team and the caretaker from the AMC Lonesome Lake Hut.
