Shooting Incident Occurs in Pittsburg, NH

LANCASTER, N.H. -- On October 2, 2013, 34-year-old Patrick Sullivan of Goffstown, New Hampshire, was struck by bird shot on his lower extremities when his friend, 36-year-old Adam Gilman of Hopkinton, discharged his firearm at a grouse off East Inlet Road in the town of Pittsburg, New Hampshire.

Gilman drove Sullivan to the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook, where he was treated and released for approximately 70 puncture wounds from the shotgun pellets.  N.H. Fish and Game Conservation Officers met with the hunting party and are currently investigating the shooting incident.

Neither Gilman nor Sullivan were wearing hunter orange at the time of the incident.  The location of the incident consisted of very thick spruce tree cover.

There is no further information at this time.
