Herring Days Out Meeting July 8, 2013 Cancelled
DURHAM, N.H. -- The meeting of the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission's Atlantic Herring Section schedule for Monday, July 8, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the Region 3 office in Durham has been cancelled. Catch rates in Area 1A have been lower than predicted, and there is no need to review or change the ‘days out’ for the June 1- September 30 season at this time.
Vessels may currently land Atlantic herring from Area 1A seven days a week with no ‘days out' of the fishery.
The Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission coordinates the conservation and management of the 15 Atlantic coast states' shared near-shore fishery resources -- marine, shell and anadromous -- for sustainable use. Visit www.asmfc.org.
