Skip to proposed aquaculture plan detail.

DURHAM, N.H. -- The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department will hold a public hearing on a proposed marine aquaculture license amendment on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at 9:00 AM at the Fish and Game Region 3 Office, 225 Main Street, Durham, N.H. 03824.  The public is welcome to attend and to offer comments on the proposed aquaculture plan.

The proposed amendment would be for an Aquaculture License held by Michael Chambers of the University of New Hampshire and would modify an existing Marine Aquaculture License (2013-12) by adding three shellfish species and six seaweed species to a license that currently allows for growth and sale of steelhead trout and blue mussel.

The shellfish species proposed are: American oyster, European oyster and sea scallop.

The seaweed species proposed are: Sugar kelp, Digitata kelp, Dulse, Alaria, Irish moss, and Nori.

All of the above proposed species are found in New Hampshire waters.
