Wakefield, MA, Teen Injured in Brentwood (NH) Dirt Bike Crash

Brentwood, N.H. – A Wakefield, Massachusetts, teen was transported to Beth Israel Hospital in Massachusetts the evening of Saturday, September 21, 2013, after sustaining serious bodily injury from hitting a tree with his dirt bike and being thrown from it.  The accident occurred on a private course in the woods off Route 125 in Brentwood, NH.

The teen was riding with two of his friends when the crash occurred.  The incident was reported to authorities at 5:20 p.m., and Brentwood Ambulance, Police and Fire Departments responded.

New Hampshire Fish and Game Department Conservation Officers are investigating the cause of the crash, but it does not appear that alcohol was a factor.  The injured teen was wearing a helmet and protective goggles at the time of the accident.

"This accident could have turned out for the worse if proper protective equipment had not been worn,” said Conservation Officer Chris McKee.  "This incident is a grave reminder that wearing a helmet, goggles and protective gear while out on the trail is extremely important."

No further information is available at this time.
