Couple Rescued After Becoming Lost On The Fall Mountain Range, Langdon, NH
KEENE, N.H. -- Kristy Dansereau, age 29, and Jamie Dansereau, age 30, of Westminster, Vermont, called 911 for assistance Saturday afternoon, May 18, 2013, after the couple lost the trail they were hiking on.
The couple began their hike at 11:30 AM in North Walpole, heading East to the Fall Mountain area on an unmarked/non-maintained woods trail. They reached one of the summits of the Fall Mountain Range and upon their descent down the other side, they lost the trail, and decided to navigate their own trail to the bottom. When they became tired, overcome by mosquitoes and ticks, and realized that they had become lost, they dialed 911 from their cell phones around 4:00 PM. 911 was able to obtain their exact coordinate location. The couple was advised to stay put and not move.
At 6:00 PM, N.H. Fish and Game Conservation Officers David Walsh, Eric Hannett and Jonathan DeLisle, along with Langdon Police Chief Ray L’Abbe, were able to locate the couple near the 911 coordinates and then assist them in hiking off the mountain range to Cold River Road. The couple was then transported to their vehicle in North Walpole by the Walpole Police Department.
