The lifetime license is a special license offered by the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department for residents of New Hampshire. Lifetime licenses are available only at the Concord headquarters office or by mail. This is an opportunity for anyone who expects to continue hunting and/or fishing in the future, because it fixes the cost of a license permanently. The fee for this license is not refundable for any reason. Similar to insurance annuity premiums, the rates are higher at younger ages, as shown on the fee schedule (click here for current fees).
Lifetime Hunting and Combination Hunting & Fishing Licenses include the bear license.
Lifetime License holders must pay habitat fees when purchasing their license (which has been included on the fee schedule); they do not have to pay the habitat fees in the ensuing years.
Purchase of a Lifetime License can be made only at the Fish and Game's headquarters office in Concord, N.H., or by mail, provided the following documentation is presented along with the application completed and signed:
- A valid New Hampshire drivers license or non-driver photo ID.
- A previously held hunting license or hunter safety certificate and/or a previously held archery license or bow education certificate.
- If you currently hold a Lifetime License, you must return it to the Department upon application for additional lifetime licenses. All lifetime license types will be printed on the same form, and you will keep the same license number.
If applying by mail, please make the check payable to the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department in the amount shown on the fee table at your presently attained age. The Department cannot be responsible for original documents; only copies of the documents should be mailed. Your license will be mailed back to you; it must be signed. If you would like your license laminated, please return it to the Department. If you have any questions, please call the Licensing Department at (603) 271-3422. Allow 5-10 business days for processing.
