2013 Bear Season Harvest

The 2013 New Hampshire bear season concluded at 569 bears.  The 2013 harvest concluded 30% less than the 2012 level (808 bears) and was similar (-9%) to the preceding 5-year average (626 bears).  The harvest consisted of 340 males and 229 females resulting in an overall harvest sex ratio of 1.5 males per female.  Method-specific harvest sex ratios included 1.9 m:f for bait hunters, 0.8 m:f for hound hunters and 1.3 m:f for still hunters.  A breakdown by region and method follows.
