Thomas Provost of Greenfield, Mass., writes:
"I wanted to send you this picture and info about the
magnificent moose I killed with my father (Daniel Provost,
above) on 10/21/02. It was the culmination of a life long
dream for both of us. The hunt was perfect for us. The weather
could not have been nicer and the moose were plentiful. I
will take the memories of that glorious hunt with my "ole
man" to my grave. The bull weighed 830 lbs. dressed.
The rack measured 54" and the animal was estimated to
be 5-1/2 to 6-1/2 years old. He was the dominant bull of the
three we spotted that morning for sure. Thanks to a 21-year
old draft horse named "Tony" we took him out whole.
It was a dream come true for both of us. Not bad for a couple
flatlanders."

Harry Gardner of Chester,
N.H. writes: "After missing opening day to go to my wife's
class reunion out of state, and returning at 1:30 a.m. only
to leave at 2:30 a.m. for the second day of the hunt... I
shot this 16-point, 860-pound bull with 52" spread at
3:20 p.m. after passing up three spike bulls."

Brooks South writes: "In
the [moose hunt news release], the 3rd to the last paragraph
refers to a fellow whose subpermittee left him high &
dry by moving to Colorado a week before the hunt. That's me!
I did get another subpermittee 2 hours before the deadline
to do this, thanks to the cooperation of the Fish & Game
Department (Karen Cleveland). We were successful -- here is
a photo of us (me in the red jacket -- Brooks (Russell) South
and the subpermittee, Rick Graham -- in the beard) and our
780 lb. moose! It was shot at 4:10 pm, and with the help of
a bulldozer, we got it off the mountain, and ended the day
at 11:30 pm."
