Summer Teacher Workshops
The Watershed Ecology Institute has been totally revamped to provide a more direct link to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and its use in aquatic studies of rivers, wetlands and estuarine and rocky shore aquatic ecosystems. Educators will learn how to collect, map, and analyze water quality and fisheries data sets from EPSCoR and N.H. Fish and Game and will learn how to perform a rocky shore coastal transect (on the marine day). They will go home with access to free GIS software and aquatic study tutorials to use in their classrooms. Instruction will be provided by various university and agency specialists and teachers themselves! Three graduate credits will be offered from Keene State College.
